Quick Links Even though IT is supporting Windows 7, Windows 7 may not be compatible with some software applications, IT advises that you consult your software vendor prior to purchase to ensure that there are no compatibility issues.
If you are planning to upgrade your current computer to Windows Windows 7, please note the above mentioned incompatibilites still apply and that our testing has revealed a significant performance loss due to hardware limitations on older computers. Most users will need to purchase new computers running Windows Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate Edition in order to run Windows efficiently and connect to campus network services. Windows 7 Home will not be supported by IT. For assistance in planning your migration to Windows Windows 7, contact the Help Desk. Some users may not be able to upgrade to Windows 7 due to hardware limitations. Microsoft provides upgrade advisor software on its web site that can determine if your computer is capable of running Windows 7. Please note that the results of the Upgrade Advisor software may not be 100% accurate and may not indicate accurately of whether your current computer's hardware/software may handle Windows 7.
Will my application run on Windows 7? Users should check with their software vendor to see if the applications will run on Windows 7.
